DESCENDANTS OF EDWARD PERKINS


Fifth Generation



which was proved and ordered to be recorded, and is in the words and figures following, viz.:

"I, Elijah Perkins, of Washington, in Litchfield County, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament.

"In the first place I give and bequeath unto my sons Isaac Perkins and Jehiel Perkins one hundred and fifty dollars each; and to the heirs of my son Tyrus, deceased, the sum of one hundred dollars. I give and bequeath to my son Azariah Perkins thirty-eight dollars.

"My son Harvey Perkins and my daughter Laura Hanford have received in full their portions.

"All the real and personal estate I die possessed of, after paying the debts and the aforesaid legacies (and I hereby order the sale of the real estate to pay them if there should not be personal estate sufficient) shall be divided in the following manner (viz.): one-third part to go to Samuel C. Perkins and his heirs forever; and the remaining two-thirds to go to my sons Isaac Perkins and Jehiel Perkins and their heirs forever. I constitute and appoint Ithiel Hickox executor on this my last will and testament, and I hereby revoke all former wills and declare this to be my last will and testament, this 31st day of July, A. D. Signed and sealed with my hand in the presence of Mary W. Brinsmade, A. I. Brinsmade, S. H. Mitchell. "ELIJAH PERKINS."

Ithiel Hickox refuses to serve as executor and Daniel G. Platt, by the wish of two of the sons, is appointed to administer upon the estate.

Also Andrew Heine, Jr., and Ira Baker are appointed to appraise the estate. At the same time the administrator represents the estate insolvent, and orders that commissioners be appointed to examine and adjust the claims of creditors.

Nathaniel Perry of New Milford, and Andrew Heine, Jr., of Washington, were chosen commissioners.
