JEHIEL6 PERKINS, son of (114) Elijah5 [(37) Azariah4 (6) John3, (2) John2, (1) Edward1], was born January 10, 1797-8, in Washington, Litchfield County, Conn. He married, September 24, 1828, Althea Gibbs, daughter of William and Hannah (Sutherland) Northrup of Dutchess County, N. Y., where they had large land grants. While a resident of Connecticut he was a gentleman farmer and a general of militia. From Connecticut he went to Virginia, and from the latter State he returned North, and in 1829 and '30 was in business as a grocer in New York City; later he removed to Auburn, N. Y. In 1836 he was officially connected with the State Prison located there.

He died in Auburn April 29, 1857, aged 59. After his death his widow resided in Syracuse, N. Y., where she died, but the date of her death has not been learned.

The children of (208) Jehiel6 and Althea (Northrup) Perkins were:

345 CHARLES ALLEN7, born Dec. 17, 1831.
346 WILLIAM7, born April 27, 1830; served through the Civil War; was a captain; married, but left no children.
347 HANNAH7, born ; married Walter B. Adams and resided in Syracuse, N. Y.; they had two daughters.

SAMUEL CLARK6 PERKINS, son of (114) Elijah5 [(37) Azariah4, (6) John3, (2) John2, (1) Edward1], was born in Washington, Conn., May 30, 1805; married May 11, 1836, Clarissa Walton, who was born in 1808 and died October 12, 1857. He was a farmer and lived in Washington, Conn. He died January 8, 1851.

The children of (209) Samuel Clark6 and Clarissa (Walton) Perkins were:

350 MARY E.7, born March 3, 1838; married March 20, 1859, Leander Jacobs. They reside in Wilmington, Conn., and had five children, three of whom are deceased.
