DESCENDANTS OF EDWARD PERKINS


Third Generation



or Hayward of Enfield, Conn. She was the daughter of Thomas Hayward.

October 21, 1749, an indenture was made between the children and heirs of the above John Perkins, for the distribution of his estate, viz.: Roger Perkins of Derby, John, Azariah, Phineas and Benjamin Perkins; Jay Bishop and wife Miriam, Anna Perkins, Joseph Dickerman and wife Lois; Elisha Perkins, in behalf of his children, and Ruth Perkins, all of New Haven; John Crawfut of Derby and wife Sarah; Samuel Merriam and wife Elizabeth of Wallingford.

April 23, 1752, his widow, Elizabeth, complained to Court about her dower.

The children of (6) John3 and Sarah (Warner) Perkins were:

29 PHINEAS4, born Feb. 25, 1701-2; died Oct. , 1705.
30 ROGER4, born March 25, 1704; died , 1751.
31 SARAH4, born Nov. 27, 1705; married John Crawfut of Derby, Conn.

The children of (6) John3 and Elizabeth (Heward, or Hayward) Perkins were:

32 MIRIAM4, born Nov. 2, 1708; married Feb. 5, 1735-6 Jay, or Joy, son of James Bishop and Abigail (Bennett) of North Haven, who was born May 28, 1711.
33 JOHN4, born June 21, 1710; died , 1752.

ANNA4, born Nov. 12, 1711; died Dec. , 1774. She lived at Wallingford, New Haven, Conn., where she made her will Dec. 3, 1774, and which was entered for probate the same month. In it she names nephew Simeon, son to brother Benjamin Perkins, to whom she gives one-fifth part of her movable estate; sister Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Merriam, one-fifth part; Hannah Bishop and her sister, one-fifth part; sister Miriam, wife of Jay Bishop of New Haven, one-fifth part. To her two nieces, Sarah, wife of Josiah Hotchkiss, Jr., and Eunice, wife of Benj. Bristol, one-fifth part; and appoints her brother-in-law, Samuel Merriam, executor.
