33 | JOHN4 PERKINS, son of (6) John3 [(2) John2 (1) Edward 1], was born in New Haven June 21, 1710. During his father's lifetime he appears to have been called Junior and his cousin John 3rd; after his father's death he is called simply John Perkins, while his cousin took the title of Junior. He married, first, May 17, 1739, Ruth, daughter of James and Abigail (Bennett) Bishop, who was born May 19, 1709, and died December 15, 1742. In 1740 John Perkins, Jr., and his wife Ruth deeded land which descended to them from their father, Mr. James Bishop, deceased. December 3, 1744, he married for his second wife Thankful Chamberlain of Wallingford, Conn. He was a farmer, and June 10, 1745, he bought of Peter Perkins for £95 31½ acres and 36 rods of land. January 17, 1751-2, Thankful Perkins and Daniel Ford and wife Mary, for £10, sold to Dea. Theophilus Baldwin of Milford 16½ acres lying north of Bladen's Brook. He died in 1752, and administration upon his estate was granted Azariah Perkins, August, 1752. The only child of (33) John4 and Ruth (Bishop) Perkins was:
